About Us

Nottingham University Press - a dynamic and rapidly expanding independent university press - has gained international recognition as a publisher of high quality scientific and technical publications.

Established in 1992 by Drs Des Cole (deceased) and Phil Garnsworthy, the core subject area has traditionally been within the fields of animal and food science, particularly aspects of nutrition.

Since then, more than 100 books have been issued and the Press now publishes over a dozen titles annually - a mix of academic monographs, textbooks, conference proceedings and journals - by authors from as far afield as Canada and Hong Kong. Genres include agriculture and food, medicine, education, veterinary, meat inspection, and under a separate imprint, Castle Publications, sport.  The Press is constantly seeking new authors, new subjects and new titles to publish.

A small, dedicated and highly professional team, working closely with its authors and editors, takes particular pride in its ability to produce high quality books quickly and efficiently and then to bring these works to the attention of prospective readers around the world.
