About Us

Nottingham University Press is owned by NOTICE Limited, the trading arm of the University of Nottingham. We were founded in 1992 by Drs. Des Cole (now deceased) and Phil Garnsworthy. Phil is now a full Professor of Dairy Science and Science Associate Dean for Quality & Standards at the University.

From humble beginnings with the publication of "Recent Developments in Pig Nutrition 2" in August 1992 and "Recent Advances in Animal Nutrition 1993" in June of 1993 we have grown to an internationally recognised University Press with representation in over 90 countries. We have distribution facilities in both the United States and Australasia.

Our range of titles has matured and diversified and we have now published over 200 books. All of our books are routinely converted to e-books, which are currently being sold into libraries through aggregators; although we do have plans to retail these from our own website. All books are also automatically put into our foreign rights programme.

Our books are displayed at various book fairs, including London and Frankfurt and previously Tokyo. More recently we attended the ADSA Joint Conference in Denver, Colorado and we regularly attend the Feed Manufacturers Conference, the BSAS Annual Conference and the EAAP Annual Conference. More conference representation is planned for the future.

One of our specialities is the production of Conference Proceedings in book format, which we can produce either for the event or for presentation to delegates afterwards.

We have considerable in-house expertise which allows us to design and produce high quality books and these titles are regularly disseminated internationally through the Onix data system. We have our own active sales and marketing programme. Our authors are International.
