Dr Stavroula Leka

Stavroula Leka is Associate Professor in Occupational Health Psychology in the Institute of Work, Health & Organisations where she is Course Director for the MSc in Occupational Health Psychology and Head of the Institute's e-learning team. She is a chartered psychologist, a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Promotion of Health and a member of the British Psychological Society, the International Commission on Occupational Health and the European Academy of Occupational Health Psychology.

Her research is focussed on the translation of occupational health and safety knowledge and policy into practice. Currently this research is expressed through studies on psychosocial risk management, occupational health and safety education and training, corporate social responsibility and occupational health and safety, and the management of chronic illness at the workplace. Her research is well published and she has been an invited speaker at a number of international conferences. Stavroula is member of the University's PGCHE (Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education) team and represents the Faculty of Law & Social Sciences at the University's E-learning/E-knowledge Committee.

Stavroula is also the Director of the Institute's World Health Organization (WHO) Programme and is Chair of the WHO Network of Collaborating Centres in Occupational Health programme of work on Psychosocial Factors at Work and a member of the Network's Planning Committee. She has recently been appointed manager of the new WHO programme of work on Practical Approaches to Identify and Reduce Occupational Risks.
