Prof David Cottle

David Cottle is Professor of Sheep and Wool Science and Deputy Chair of Academic Board at the University of New England, Australia. He is the University representative for the wool industry on the Primary Industries Standing Committee of the Primary Industries Ministerial Council and is Federal Treasurer of the Australian Society of Animal Production. He was formerly the leader of the education program of the Sheep Industry Cooperative Research Centre. He was previously the General Manager of the Primary Industries Division of the Wool Research Organisation of New Zealand and before that, Associate Professor of Wool Science at the University of New South Wales. He has written over one hundred scientific papers and was Editor of the Australian Sheep and Wood Handbook (1991) Inkata Press, Melbourne, the predecessor of this book.

Prof. Cottle is a member of the Australian Council of Deans of Agriculture, Australasian Association of Animal Breeding and Genetics, Australian Society of Animal Production, New Zealand Society of Animal Production and the Australian/New Zealand Raw Wool Standard Committee. He is Managing Editor of the International Journal of Sheep and Wool Science and a refereee for the Australian Journal of Agricultural Research, Australian Journal of Experimental Agriculture and the New Zealand Foundation for Research, Science and Technology.
