The SEVENTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON PIG REPRODUCTION was held at the Congress Centre Rolduc in Kerkrade, The Netherlands in June 2005. The meeting provided another excellent opportunity for scientific and social interaction among 150 delegates from 26 countries actively involved in all aspects of pig reproduction. Twenty-four invited speakers from nine countries reviewed recent developments in:
- Relationship of the Brain - Pituitary - Adipose Tissue Axis to Reproduction
- Gonads
- Uterus/Embryo
- Nutrition/Environment
- Controlled reproduction
- Genetics/Transgenics/ Cloning
As these titles suggest, the presentations spanned the continuum from opportunities to apply research to improve reproductive efficiency to fundamental studies using contemporary systems biology.
